Delts Emerging as Leaders

This summer, three Gamma Kappa Delts participated in leadership opportunities provided by the fraternity.

Karnea is a biennial conference held in cities throughout all of North America, playing host to chapters world-wide.  Known as the "greatest of all Delt events", this conference serves as a learning opportunity for members and alumni together, as well as a meeting place to conduct chapter business.  Gamma Kappa was able to send two of its members this year, which took place in Austin, Texas.

Gamma Kappa was also proud to send one its younger members, Austin Stumpe, to the Sailing Leadership Academy.  Hosted in Camdon, ME, Delt brothers learn to sail the schooner Mary Day, a 115-foot sailing vessel as they navigate the Penobscot Bay in Maine.  In addition to sailing, brothers learn more about Delt rituals and are also asked to take a look at their own character and leadership styles.  This academy is application based, and among a few of the academies/conferences Gamma Kappa continually encourages its members to participate in.
